My Experience

I worked in Christian Education (in CCS/CSA schools in NSW) from 1981 to 2014. During
this time, teaching secondary students, mainly in the Physical Education, Social Science, Computing areas
(including a period where he was a Senior Marker of HSC Computing Studies).

I was also a Deputy Principal for six years and Principal of K-12 schools for 22 years.

My doctoral studies explored leadership of Christian Schools in NSW, with a specific focus on the experiences of first time principals in their first 12 months in the role.

During this time, I also served on CCS/State Council for multiple terms, and was the inaugural Chair of what ultimately became the NSW Christian Schools Sports Association. I was also the inaugural Chair of the NSW Christian School Teacher Accreditation Committee, responsible for establishing policy and procedures leading to the Accreditation of Teachers at the levels of "Highly Accomplished" and "Lead" levels on behalf of NSW BOSTES.

Another significant task that this committee developed under his leadership was the development of Christian Distinctive Standards, aligned with the BOSTES Teacher Accreditation Standards.

I finished full time Principalship at the end of 2013. Since then, I have increased my commitment to
supporting tertiary institutions and their students, mentoring emerging leaders, consulting to schools and
acting as a locum for a Principal on leave for one school term.

Qualifications include numerous Education degrees at the Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate level,
gained through both secular and Christian institutions.

At the tertiary level, I have been involved in writing subjects at the Masters Level for Excelsia College (formerly Wesley Institute) and Morling Education (formerly Southland College). I have over 6 years' experience in lecturing students studying for undergraduate and post graduate qualifications.

I wrote the subject “Becoming a more effective school leader in the 21st Century” for Morling
Education’s M.Ed (Leadership) degree, and “Foundations of Teaching” and “Classroom Management” for
Excelsia College.

I am also an Elder at the church that I and my family have attended for the past 20 years.
